On October 22, Norway announced a new aid package for Ukraine worth about $150 million for the purchase of gas in the winter.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This<\/span> was announced by<\/span><\/a> President Volodymyr Zelensky.<\/span><\/p>\n

He emphasized the importance of energy support and added that this is the third aid package from Norway this year.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI thanked Norway for this assistance and Prime Minister Jonas Gahr St\u00f8re during our meeting. I spoke about the consequences of today’s Russian shelling. Thank you for your solidarity and compassion,\u201d Zelenskyy noted.<\/span><\/p>\n

In turn, the Norwegian Prime Minister noted that his country maintains close and regular contact with Ukraine \u2014 both with the president and the government,<\/span> reports<\/span><\/a> “European Pravda.”<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cNorway provides strong support to Ukraine and will continue to do so. It is very important to maintain a close dialogue with the Ukrainian authorities so that support meets the needs on the ground in Ukraine,\u201d he explained.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, according to Zelensky, they discussed Ukraine’s needs for air defense systems and missiles for them, as well as defense cooperation – weapons production, expansion of the PURL initiative.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a reminder, amid increasing Russian attacks on the energy system , Ukraine plans to increase gas imports by a third<\/a> and has already begun negotiations with international partners.<\/p>\n

As is known, Russia has recently intensified attacks on the Ukrainian energy grid, in particular on gas installations<\/a> , which are key components of the country’s heating system.<\/p>\n
