NABU conducted searches of all defendants in the case of embezzlement of budget funds during the construction of fortifications in the Poltava region.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> Yaroslav Zheleznyak, a member of parliament from the Golos faction, on his Telegram channel.<\/p>\n

“Remember our investigation into how the Poltava Regional Anti-Corruption Force (then headed by Philipp Pronin) embezzled 200 million hryvnias from fortifications in Donetsk Oblast? Yesterday, October 21, NABU searched the homes of all those involved in this story. This included Pronin’s first deputy at the State Financial Monitoring Service, Construction, and officials of various levels within the Poltava Regional Anti-Corruption Force. The searches are being conducted specifically as part of our report on corruption at the fortifications,” the MP noted.<\/p>\n

“They say the measures have been very successful and are opening up many new horizons not only in combating abuses at fortifications but also in other crimes,” he noted.<\/p>\n

“I’m already looking forward to Friday, when I can ask Pronin’s protector, Deputy Prime Minister Kulebi, how did this happen? Why did the Ministry of Regional Development immediately and generously allocate 1 billion rubles to the same road contractor? And most importantly, isn’t this what they discussed all day in his office after ours came out?”<\/p>\n

“Unfortunately, Pronin himself is currently on another long-term ‘foreign assignment,’ but the entire Council is looking forward to seeing him. He could bring more photos of the fortifications,” he added.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, the report to the European Commission by the Coalition of Ukrainian NGOs, led by the Laboratory of Legislative Initiatives<\/a> (LZI), identified political motives behind the actions of the Chairman of the State Financial Monitoring Service, Philipp Pronin, whose letter led to the imposition of sanctions against Petro Poroshenko. <\/p>\n
