The European Union has approved the 19th package of sanctions against Russia for continuing its full-scale war against Ukraine. The new list of restrictions, in addition to financial and technological measures, also includes a ban on the supply of a number of goods to Russia, including plumbing equipment.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to<\/a> the head of EU diplomacy, Kaia Kallas, the restrictions are aimed at Russian banks, crypto exchanges, companies in China and India, and also provide for new rules for the movement of Russian diplomats.<\/p>\n

At the same time, Russian media drew attention to the fact that some plumbing equipment – toilets, bidets, cisterns, etc. – was among the goods banned for export.<\/p>\n

At the same time, Kaia Kallas emphasized that the adopted sanctions are designed to increase pressure on the Kremlin and make it more difficult to finance the war:<\/p>\n

“It’s becoming increasingly difficult for Putin to finance this war,” she said.<\/p>\n

The new EU package is another step towards the economic isolation of Russia and at the same time demonstrates Brussels’ desire to reduce any supplies that can support the aggressor country’s industry, even in the household sector.<\/p>\n

It was also previously reported that Chinese state-owned companies temporarily stopped purchasing Russian oil by sea<\/a> after the United States imposed sanctions against Rosneft and Lukoil.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, the Donald Trump administration has announced the first major package of financial restrictions aimed at the Russian economy<\/a> . This move is part of Washington’s new strategy, the aim of which is to force the Kremlin to end its war against Ukraine.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the United States remains open to negotiations with Russia, even after imposing sanctions<\/a> against two leading Russian oil companies.<\/p>\n
