US President Donald Trump sarcastically commented on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s words regarding new American sanctions, which, according to the Russian leader, will allegedly not affect the Russian economy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Trump announced<\/a> this during a conversation with reporters at the White House, his own correspondent reports to Ukrinform.<\/p>\n

“I’m glad he thinks so. That’s good,” the American leader responded briefly, emphasizing the ironic tone of his response.<\/p>\n

At the same time, Trump noted that the true effect of the sanctions will become apparent only in six months.<\/p>\n

“We’ll see how it all plays out,” the US president added.<\/p>\n

New US sanctions against Russia are being introduced in response to further Russian aggression and attempts to avoid economic responsibility, experts note.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, the Donald Trump administration has announced the first major package of financial restrictions aimed at the Russian economy<\/a> . This move is part of Washington’s new strategy, the aim of which is to force the Kremlin to end its war against Ukraine.<\/p>\n
