President Donald Trump abruptly canceled a peace summit with Vladimir Putin and imposed sanctions on Russia over the lack of progress in talks, a decision prompted in part by an assessment by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who has advocated a tougher stance on Moscow.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Trump added that despite the imposition of sanctions, future talks with Putin remain possible.<\/p>\n
