In Lviv, the liquidation of a large-scale accident on the main water supply has been ongoing for three days. Part of the city remains without water supply, and utility workers are working non-stop, trying to restore the water supply.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As noted by the utility company, the accident was one of the largest in recent decades. According to experts, even veterans of the company do not remember similar cases when part of the city remained without water for three days.<\/p>\n

“We are forced to admit: Lvivvodokanal has faced the largest challenge for the city’s water supply system in recent decades,” the report says.<\/p>\n

Utility workers reported that on the morning of October 25, they completed major repairs and began filling the system. After the accident, more than thirty kilometers of main pipelines and large tanks were left completely empty. It will take about seven to eight hours to gradually restore water supply.<\/p>\n

“We tried to partially supply water to people, at least to the first floors, by regulating the pressure in the network,” the company noted.<\/p>\n

However, during this process, a new rupture occurred. Lvivvodokanal explained that the sharp drop in pressure at the pumping stations was caused by new damage to the water main near the village of Domazhyr, on the opposite side of the river from the previous accident.<\/p>\n

Emergency crews are working on site, continuing repairs without interruption. The company emphasized that the staff is working at the limit of their physical capabilities – many employees have not slept for the second day.<\/p>\n

“We understand the indignation of residents of the Zaliznychny and Shevchenkivskyi districts, who have been without water for the third day. But we sincerely ask you not to direct your anger at the workers, who are doing everything possible and impossible today to ensure that the city has water again,” the utility workers concluded.<\/p>\n
