Estonia is prepared to use force against drones violating its airspace if they pose an “immediate threat.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was stated by Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna during a joint press conference with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha.<\/p>\n

“Yes. As President [US Donald] Trump said, we must shoot them down if they pose an immediate threat. We have all the protocols and all the capabilities,” Tsakhkna said.<\/p>\n

He also noted NATO’s role in protecting territorial integrity: “Estonia has been part of NATO for over 20 years. The Alliance is prepared to defend its territory. We expect greater involvement, a greater deployment of weapons, and better coordination when it comes to such violations.”<\/p>\n

The meeting took place amid heightened European awareness of airspace threats following large-scale drone attacks in the region. Estonia has previously repeatedly emphasized its readiness to work with its allies to deter and counter potential aggressive actions, particularly as the situation in Europe escalates.<\/p>\n

Incidentally, one of the largest air defense manufacturers in Europe reported an increase in the number of unknown drones over its secret facilities.<\/a><\/p>\n

As a reminder, an unknown unmanned aerial vehicle was previously recorded flying over a strategic facility in Norway<\/a> \u2013 Equinor’s gas field located in the North Sea.<\/p>\n

As reported, flights of unidentified drones were recorded in Denmark, Sweden, Lithuania, Norway, and Finland<\/a> , some of which flew near military installations and strategic infrastructure.<\/p>\n
