Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that Budapest should defend in every way the opportunity to purchase Russian oil and gas, as the country will not be able to replace these energy resources with other sources.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He said<\/a> this in an interview with the M1 TV channel, emphasizing that the refusal of Russian supplies will lead to a shortage and an inevitable increase in the price of energy resources.<\/p>\n

“We must fight for access to Russian oil and gas until the end. There is no other way to replace them – there will be a shortage, although not absolute, and prices will rise,” Orban said.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In addition, the Prime Minister expressed doubts about the effectiveness of sanctions in excluding Russian oil from the global market. In his opinion, the adoption of the 19th package of EU sanctions only confirms that previous restrictions have not produced the desired result.<\/p>\n

Orban previously noted that if Hungary abandons Russian energy resources, it will have to look for less reliable suppliers.<\/p>\n
