Then place copies of that collection in orbit, on the Moon, and on Mars to preserve it for the future,&#8221; Musk wrote.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"535\" data-end=\"855\"> Grokipedia uses a chatbot called Grok, which analyzes information from various sources\u2014from Wikipedia to PDFs and websites\u2014checks the veracity of facts, and &#8220;corrects half-truths or errors.&#8221; Musk previously explained that Grok uses &#8220;big inference computation&#8221; to generate the most accurate descriptions of events and phenomena.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"857\" data-end=\"1102\"> Back in September, Musk announced on the <em data-start=\"887\" data-end=\"895\">All-In<\/em> podcast that he wanted to create an alternative to Wikipedia, where &#8220;edit wars continue&#8221; and activists are making their influence felt. He promised to discuss the idea with his team, and now he&#8217;s implemented it.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1131\" data-end=\"1524\"> After Grokipedia&#8217;s launch, Musk shared positive user reviews on social media, but journalists pointed out a number of controversial issues.<br data-start=\"1273\" data-end=\"1276\" \/> The New York Times reported that some articles were presented in a manner consistent with Musk&#8217;s own views. Specifically, a piece about former Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal highlighted points that supported Musk&#8217;s position on &#8220;bots&#8221; on the social network.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1526\" data-end=\"1729\"> At the same time, Wired notes that Grokipedia contains erroneous claims, such as that pornography exacerbated the AIDS epidemic and that social media is contributing to the rise of transgender people.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1752\" data-end=\"2007\"> Grokipedia temporarily went down immediately after its launch, but resumed operation a few hours later.
