Several unidentified drones have been spotted over a military base in Wallonia, Belgium. The country’s Defense Ministry believes that this is not a coincidence, but a targeted reconnaissance operation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According<\/a> to the Belga news agency, Defense Minister Theo Francken confirmed that drones flew twice over the army brigade headquarters in the town of Marche-en-Faman. According to him, the devices circled for a long time over important areas of the military base.<\/p>\n

“Last night, the situation repeated itself – several drones were again recorded. We immediately launched the necessary response protocols, and the police and the ADIV intelligence service began an investigation,” Franken said.<\/p>\n

The minister emphasized that the flight of drones over a strategic object cannot be accidental.<\/p>\n

“This looks like an organized operation against the heart of our army. Someone was trying to gather information about the critical infrastructure of a military facility,” he noted.<\/p>\n

The Belgian government is already preparing a decision on the urgent procurement of systems for detecting and destroying enemy UAVs to prevent similar incidents in the future.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, in Palma de Mallorca (Spain), the airport was temporarily closed on October 19 due to the appearance of an unidentified drone in the area of Son Sant Joan airport<\/a> . The incident caused delays and flight changes.<\/p>\n

As reported, on October 6, a drone was spotted over the presidential palace and nearby buildings in Helsinki, where a no-fly zone is in effect.<\/a><\/p>\n
