The administration of US President Donald Trump has identified military facilities in Venezuela that it says are used for drug smuggling and is considering options for air strikes against them.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Journalists, citing sources, write that the US administration is considering options for air strikes on facilities in Venezuela. According to the sources, attacks are planned on infrastructure allegedly used for illegal drug trafficking.<\/p>\n

The report states that this decision is explained by the fight against the fentanyl epidemic in the United States, where deaths related to this drug have increased significantly. Journalists point out that the US military has already conducted operations against ships allegedly transporting drugs in the Caribbean and the eastern Pacific.<\/p>\n

Ahead of possible strikes, the US has allegedly launched an information campaign to portray Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro as the “head of a drug cartel.” The report notes that Maduro denies these accusations.<\/p>\n

According to sources, the Pentagon has already sent an aircraft carrier and escort ships to the Caribbean. According to journalists, five other ships, thousands of military personnel and modern aircraft are also in the region.<\/p>\n
