The Pechersky District Court of Kyiv has ruled on a preventive measure for former Odessa Mayor Gennady Trukhanov. He has been ordered to be placed under 24-hour house arrest with the wearing of an electronic bracelet until December 28, 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The investigating judge granted the investigation’s request. According to the court’s decision, Trukhanov is prohibited from leaving his place of residence, except in cases of emergency medical care or the need to go to shelter during an air raid alert.<\/p>\n

In addition, the court imposed a number of obligations on the former mayor. He cannot travel outside Odessa without the permission of the investigator, prosecutor, or court, communicate with witnesses in the case, and is also required to hand over his passport for travel abroad and constantly wear an electronic bracelet.<\/p>\n

As the judge noted, the ruling can be appealed within five days in the court of appeals.<\/p>\n

Hennadiy Trukhanov’s lawyer, Oleksandr Lysak, told reporters after the hearing that the defense plans to appeal this court decision.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that the Prosecutor General’s Office is preparing a petition to the court to impose a preventive measure in the form of 24-hour house arrest for former Odessa Mayor Gennady Trukhanov<\/a> . He is suspected of official negligence, which, according to the investigation, led to the deaths of people during severe weather on September 30.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree on the deprivation of Ukrainian citizenship<\/a> from Odessa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov.<\/p>\n
