Ukraine has signed a memorandum with the Greek company ATLANTIC-SEE LNG TRADE SA on the supply of liquefied natural gas from the United States. The agreement provides for the creation of a new route through Greek terminals, which will strengthen the country’s energy security.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is reported by<\/a> the Ministry of Energy.<\/p>\n

The memorandum was signed during the Ministerial Meeting of the Partnership for Transatlantic Energy Cooperation (P-TEC). The document was signed on behalf of Ukraine by Naftogaz of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

According to the agreements, the supply of American liquefied natural gas (LNG) will be carried out through Greek gas terminals and the Vertical Corridor. This format will allow Ukraine to diversify energy sources and ensure stable supplies in conditions of military risks.<\/p>\n

Ukrainian Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk emphasized that this long-term partnership involves the implementation of strategic projects until 2050. She noted that the cooperation covers the integration of Ukrainian gas infrastructure into European LNG supply routes, as well as the creation of a sustainable storage system for American gas.<\/p>\n

“I thank our partners from the USA and Greece for their cooperation. We are laying a new foundation in transatlantic cooperation with partners and taking another step towards Ukraine’s long-term energy stability and new opportunities,” the minister noted.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Energy added that this step opens a new page in transatlantic cooperation in the energy sector and will become the basis for further integration of the Ukrainian market into the European energy system.<\/p>\n

By the way, Moldova has decided to reduce the tariff for natural gas transit from Greece to Ukraine by 50%<\/a> in preparation for the 2025\u20132026 heating season. The discount will be valid for six months \u2014 from November 2025 to April 2026.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that Ukraine is urgently resolving the issue of additional gas imports<\/a> due to production losses. However, the exact amount of losses has not been announced.<\/p>\n
