According to him, Warsaw expects greater reciprocity from Kyiv in matters of historical memory, economic cooperation, and mutual interests.

This is reported by RMF24 .

Przydach stressed that Poland has shown significant support to Ukraine in recent years, but now seeks a more realistic model of partnership. He stressed that relations should be built on the principles of mutual benefit, and not on the automatic support that Ukraine could count on before.

“I have the impression that the Ukrainian side understands this better and better – that there will be no return to thinking in the categories of calling Warsaw with a request for help,” he noted.

The official rejected the suggestion that Poland is resentful of Kyiv, noting that Warsaw is only seeking to make relations more realistic.

“I have called for this for a long time: on the one hand, of course, to help in the fight against Russia, and on the other, to firmly put forward our expectations,” Przydach added.

He also reported that meetings between Polish President Karol Nawrotsky and Volodymyr Zelensky are currently not planned.

“If someone wants to come, there are no obstacles, but there is no date for the meeting yet. What is important is not photos and smiles, but the content of the relationship,” the presidential representative emphasized.

The cooling between Warsaw and Kyiv comes against the backdrop of domestic political confrontation in Poland. Representatives of the president have entered into an open confrontation with the government of Donald Tusk, accusing him of disrupting official meetings and blocking the head of state’s decisions.

Przydach said that the planned meeting between the president and the heads of the intelligence services did not take place due to the prime minister’s ban. According to him, “Prime Minister Tusk forbade them from coming to the president.” The official also accused the head of government of “daily lies” and interference in the president’s powers.

In addition, there is an ongoing conflict over the appointment of ambassadors. Presidential advisers accuse the government and Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski of attempting to “bypass the head of state” and “grossly violate traditions.” According to media reports, such internal tension in Poland is also affecting the dynamics of Polish-Ukrainian relations.

By the way, Polish President Karol Nawrocki signed a law that extends payments under the “800+” program only to those Ukrainians who officially work and pay taxes in Poland . The period of legal stay of Ukrainian citizens in the country has also been extended until March 4, 2026.

Recall that in Poland there has been a sharp increase in the number of hate crimes directed against Ukrainians . Since the beginning of 2025, the number of such incidents has increased by almost half compared to last year.

Also follow “Pryamim” on Facebook , Twitter , Telegram , and Instagram.

Marcin Przydach, head of the International Policy Bureau under the President of Poland, said that there will be no return to the previous format of relations with Ukraine.
