Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi said Russia has concentrated a large part of its troops near Pokrovsk, turning the area into the main axis of its offensive to seize the rest of the Donetsk region.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He said<\/span><\/a> this<\/span> in an interview with The New York Post.<\/span><\/p>\n

Trying to seize the territories around Pokrovsk and break through the Ukrainian defense line, the enemy has concentrated about 150,000 troops, creating a significant advantage.<\/p>\n

Russia has also deployed powerful mechanized units and four marine brigades to reinforce the offensive.<\/p>\n

The occupiers aim to encircle Pokrovsk and nearby towns from the north, south, and east, cutting off logistics routes and disrupting supplies. Another objective is to force civilians to flee.<\/p>\n

According to Syrskyi, this is the enemy\u2019s final attempt to capture the Donetsk region.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that the situation in Pokrovsk, Donetsk Oblast, remains difficult. Russian troops are seeking to create conditions there for a complete encirclement of the city<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, Russian troops are actively strengthening their positions in Pokrovsk and accumulating resources capable of conducting surveillance and striking the entire settlement.<\/a> Control over key approaches to the city has not yet been achieved, which poses a serious threat to Ukrainian defenders.<\/p>\n

As is known, despite complicated logistics, Ukrainian units are conducting rotation and evacuation in Pokrovsk and Myrnograd<\/a>.<\/p>\n

By the way, Ukrainian soldiers are clearing the northern areas of Pokrovsk, and the most active fighting in the city is taking place in the industrial zone<\/a>.<\/p>\n
