{"id":1318989,"date":"2025-11-11T14:26:16","date_gmt":"2025-11-11T12:26:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/prm.ua\/operation-midas-nabu-issues-suspicions-to-7-people-involved-in-corruption-in-the-energy-sector\/"},"modified":"2025-11-11T14:26:16","modified_gmt":"2025-11-11T12:26:16","slug":"operation-midas-nabu-issues-suspicions-to-7-people-involved-in-corruption-in-the-energy-sector","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/prm.ua\/en\/operation-midas-nabu-issues-suspicions-to-7-people-involved-in-corruption-in-the-energy-sector\/","title":{"rendered":"Operation Midas: NABU issues suspicions to 7 people involved in corruption in the energy sector"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">The National Anti-Corruption Bureau<\/span> <span class=\"s2\">and<\/span> <span class=\"s1\">the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor&#8217;s Office<\/span> <span class=\"s2\">reported suspicions against<\/span> <span class=\"s1\">7 individuals<\/span> <span class=\"s2\">involved in a large-scale corruption scheme at<\/span> <span class=\"s1\">JSC NNEGC Energoatom<\/span> <span class=\"s2\">.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"> <span class=\"s2\">This <a href=\"https:\/\/nabu.gov.ua\/news\/operatciia-midas-vykryto-vysokorivnevu-zlochynnu-organizatciiu-shcho-diiala-u-sferi-energetyky\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">was reported by<\/a> the NABU press service.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"> <span class=\"s2\">According to the investigation, the organization&#8217;s members<\/span> <span class=\"s1\">controlled a strategic enterprise<\/span> <span class=\"s2\">with an annual revenue of over UAH 200 billion, effectively turning it into their own &#8220;cash register&#8221; for receiving<\/span> <span class=\"s1\">kickbacks from counterparties in the amount of 10-15% of the value of contracts<\/span> <span class=\"s2\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"> <span class=\"s1\">So far,<\/span> <span class=\"s2\">5 people have been detained<\/span> <span class=\"s1\">, and<\/span> <span class=\"s2\">7 more are under suspicion<\/span> <span class=\"s1\">, including:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul><\/p>\n<li> businessman &#8211; head of the organization,<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li> former advisor to the Minister of Energy,<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li> Executive Director for Physical Protection and Security of Energoatom,<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li> four back office employees for money laundering.<\/li>\n<p><\/ul>\n<p> &#8220;The large-scale criminal scheme involved <span class=\"s1\">control over personnel decisions, procurement, and financial flows through third parties who did not have formal authority but acted as &#8220;watchmen,&#8221; the report says.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"> <span class=\"s1\">The organization laundered illegally obtained funds through an office in the center of Kyiv, which belonged to the family of former MP, now Senator of the Russian Federation Andriy Derkach.
