The European Union, together with Denmark, Germany, France and Lithuania, has launched the<\/span> EU4Reconstruction<\/span> project to support the reconstruction of Ukraine as part of the<\/span> Team Europe<\/span> initiative . Its budget is<\/span> \u20ac37.5 million<\/span> and its implementation will last until<\/span> June 30, 2028<\/span> .<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Lithuanian Ambassador to Ukraine<\/span> Inga Stanyt\u0117-Tolochk\u0117<\/span> recalled that the program was first announced in July during<\/span> the Conference on the Reconstruction of Ukraine in Rome<\/span> . She specified that of the agreed amount, the partners have already allocated<\/span> 5 million euros<\/span> for the first steps of the program.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The EU4Reconstruction<\/span> project<\/span> combines financial support, technical expertise and digital tools to help Ukraine rebuild in a transparent manner and in line with European standards. The initiative aims to strengthen<\/span> governance, transparency and institutional capacity<\/span> of the reconstruction system – from state reforms to the level of local communities.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The program strengthens<\/span> the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine<\/span> ,<\/span> the State Agency for Reconstruction and Infrastructure Development<\/span> , and provides communities with the opportunity to effectively manage the reconstruction process. A separate direction includes support for<\/span> civil society and independent media<\/span> , which monitor the transparency of spending and prevent corruption.<\/span><\/p>\n

“This project is a continuation of our consistent support for Ukraine. We are strengthening institutions step by step, helping the country move forward on the path of European integration,” Stanyt\u0117-Tolochkene emphasized.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Team Europe<\/span> initiative<\/span> is a joint EU platform for coordinating international assistance to partners in crisis and long-term challenges: wars, pandemics, climate or economic shocks. For Ukraine, it covers programs for reconstruction, infrastructure modernization, strengthening local self-government and developing public control.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was previously reported that negotiations between the European Commission and the Belgian government regarding<\/span> a loan to Ukraine of 140 billion euros<\/span><\/a> did not yield any results<\/a> .<\/span><\/p>\n

As a reminder, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with the Head of the Estonian Defense Ministry Hanno Pevkur<\/a> to discuss strengthening air defense, developing drone production, and creating joint defense enterprises.<\/p>\n
