On Tuesday, November 11, the Ukrainian Government decided to cut short the term of the Supervisory Board of NNEGC Energoatom, effectively removing its current leadership.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This<\/span> was announced by<\/span><\/a> Prime Minister Yulia Svyridenko.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIn 2023, we began corporate reform and selected the members of this Supervisory Board through a competitive process. The Board has full authority, from appointing management to overseeing the company\u2019s operations. Importantly, the Government did not interfere in its activities,\u201d the report states.<\/p>\n

The official emphasized that the Supervisory Board of Energoatom must take responsibility for the situation that has developed in the company.<\/p>\n

She added that the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture must submit the new composition of the Supervisory Board to the Cabinet of Ministers for approval within a week, in consultation with international partners.<\/p>\n

The new team will face several key tasks, including swiftly re-establishing management, conducting a full audit of the company, and assisting law enforcement agencies in investigating potential corruption.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have instructed the State Audit Service to carry out an urgent audit of Energoatom, including all procurement activities. We expect the results as soon as possible and will forward the materials to law enforcement and anti-corruption agencies,\u201d <\/span><\/strong>Svyrydenko adde<\/span>d.<\/span><\/strong><\/h6>\n

\nAs a reminder, NABU and SAPO are conducting a large-scale operation “Midas” to expose corruption in the energy sector<\/a>. According to the investigation, the activities of a high-level criminal organization were established, which controlled financial flows and personnel decisions in state energy structures.<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office reported suspicions against 7 individuals<\/a> involved in a large-scale corruption scheme at JSC NNEGC Energoatom.<\/p>\n
