The funds are being provided by Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden as part of NATO&#8217;s PURL initiative.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"> <span class=\"s2\">This <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nato.int\/cps\/en\/natohq\/news_238932.htm\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">was reported<\/a><\/span> <span class=\"s1\">by the Alliance&#8217;s press service.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"> <span class=\"s1\">NATO specifies that the weapons will be purchased directly from the United States, and the supplies will strengthen Ukraine&#8217;s capabilities ahead of winter. The investments are directed at equipment and ammunition, which are on Ukraine&#8217;s priority list of needs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"> <span class=\"s1\">NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said he fully supported the decision of the Nordic and Baltic allies. He stressed that the additional funding allows Ukraine to receive critical equipment exactly when it is needed most.
