On the front against Ukraine, Russia has begun using a new elite unit, the Rubicon, to target Ukrainian drone operators. After two years of Ukrainian drone dominance on the battlefield, the situation has changed dramatically.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

This is reported by<\/a><\/span> the Financial Times.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rubicon has about 5,000 fighters and considerable financial resources. The unit uses its own strike drones, surveillance systems, and radio reconnaissance equipment to detect Ukrainian operators up to 10 km from the front.<\/span><\/p>\n

The unit’s tactics are aimed not only at equipment, but also at eliminating pilots – the most valuable resource in drone warfare. Ukrainian military personnel in the Donetsk region admit that the loss of operators significantly weakens defenses, especially in the Pokrovsk area.<\/span><\/p>\n

In response, Ukrainian units are creating their own groups to search for Russian operators and changing their tactics: they are masking themselves, changing drone launch locations, and avoiding unnecessary movements so that Rubicon cannot track them.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was previously reported that two Russian Skat 350M UAV operators were killed.<\/a><\/p>\n
