Iceland, with 7 points, sits in second place after today&#8217;s 2-0 victory over Azerbaijan. Ukraine is in third place with 7 points, but has one fewer match to play.<\/p>\n<p>To secure second place, allowing them to continue their fight for a spot in the 2026 World Cup playoffs, Ukraine needs to win at least one of its two matches: either today against France or the next match against Iceland.<\/p>\n<p>The Ukrainians lost their first match against France 0-2. France is the clear favorite in this game as well. Bookmakers are offering odds of 1.22 for a Ukrainian victory; the odds for a Ukrainian victory are a whopping 17.91, and the probability of a draw (which we&#8217;d also prefer) is estimated at 7.62.
