The Cabinet of Ministers has suspended the competition for the position of head of the strategic state enterprise “GTS Operator” due to an investigation into a corruption scheme at Energoatom.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This<\/span> was announced<\/span><\/a> by Prime Minister Yulia Svirydenko.<\/span><\/p>\n

She explained that the government made the appropriate decision because one of the finalists of the competition appears in the tapes released by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau as part of Operation Midas.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cUnder such conditions, continuing the competitive procedure is incompatible with the principles of transparency, integrity, and trust in the process,\u201d the official emphasized.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to her, the competition will be resumed when additional checks on the integrity of the participants are carried out.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a reminder, NABU and SAPO are conducting a large-scale operation “Midas” to expose corruption in the energy sector<\/a> . According to the investigation, the activities of a high-level criminal organization were established, which controlled financial flows and personnel decisions in state energy structures.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a decision on the early termination of the powers of the Supervisory Board<\/a> of NNEGC Energoatom.<\/p>\n

By the way, the Cabinet of Ministers has decided to urgently suspend the work of Vice President<\/a> and member of the board of Energoatom NNEGC Jakob Hartmut.<\/p>\n
