Russia plans to recruit 12,000 North Korean workers to work at its military plants in Tatarstan. According to Ukrainian intelligence, this is part of a large-scale preparation for the production of long-range drones with which the Russian Federation strikes against Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GUR MO).<\/p>\n

“It is in Alabuz that Shahed\/Geran type drones are manufactured, with which the Russian army continues to terrorize Ukrainian cities,” the GUR emphasized.<\/p>\n

According to intelligence, Russia plans to recruit North Koreans in the near future \u2014 by the end of 2025. In late October, local officials met with representatives of the North Korean company Jihyang Technology Trade Company, which recruits workers. The parties discussed the details of the \u201csale of labor\u201d for Russian military factories.<\/p>\n

North Korean workers are promised approximately $2.50 per hour, and the work shift will last at least 12 hours.<\/p>\n

“These measures indicate the deepening of strategic cooperation between the two dictatorships with the aim of continuing the aggressive war against Ukraine,” the Ministry of Defense’s Directorate of Defense emphasized.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, units of the North Korean armed forces have been spotted coordinating actions with Russian troops near the Ukrainian border<\/a> . According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, North Korean servicemen are participating in reconnaissance and fire control of Ukrainian positions in the Sumy region.<\/p>\n

In addition, the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported that North Korean troops are not participating in combat operations in the Sumy region, but instead are performing support tasks in the Kursk region of Russia.<\/a> At the same time, Russian military personnel complain that North Koreans are fed better than themselves, and vacations for Russians are prohibited until the \u201ccapture of Sumy.\u201d<\/p>\n

As reported, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un fully supports Russian dictator Vladimir Putin in the war against Ukraine, however, the benefits he receives for this are limited.<\/a><\/p>\n
