OpenAI has announced the start of a pilot testing of group chats on its ChatGPT service. The new interface is already available in several regions for users with different subscription types.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The company said the new interface is designed to make it easier for users to collaborate within a conversation. The announcement said the testing has started in several regions and covers different interaction formats.<\/p>\n

According to the company, group chats allow users to bring together friends, family, or colleagues in a shared space to plan, make decisions, and discuss ideas.<\/p>\n

“Whether you’re organizing a group dinner or making plans with colleagues, ChatGPT can help,” the company emphasized.<\/p>\n

The company’s announcement also emphasized that group chats are separate from users’ private conversations, and personal ChatGPT memories are not shared with other participants.<\/p>\n

Group chats are now available on mobile and web for registered users with ChatGPT Free, Go, Plus, and Pro subscriptions in Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, and Taiwan.<\/p>\n

The company clarified that the launch has the status of a pilot project.<\/p>\n

“This is a pilot project that is a small first step towards sharing ChatGPT, and we expect early user feedback to help us expand our operations to more regions and ChatGPT subscriptions,” OpenAI added.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, OpenAI has amended its ChatGPT usage policy<\/a> , prohibiting its use for medical, legal, and other consulting services that require a special license.
