Estonia will provide Ukraine with \u20ac3.5 million for the acquisition of Starlink communications systems. The funding will be channeled through the Estonia-Luxembourg IT Coalition, which is developing the digital and technological capabilities of Ukraine’s defense forces.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Ukraine has confirmed the need for support to ensure the operation of Starlink, which provides a significant tactical advantage on the battlefield. Starlink’s capabilities are especially important given Ukraine’s intention to significantly expand its drone units, which require high-speed internet connections,” Pevkur stated.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

He emphasized that Ukraine fights daily for the freedom of all of Europe, including Estonia, and therefore technological support is no less important than arms supplies.<\/p>\n

In 2025, Estonia provided military aid to Ukraine equivalent to nearly 0.3% of its GDP. This support included equipment purchases through Estonian companies, training programs with the Estonian Defence Forces, and the development of Ukraine’s IT potential through a dedicated coalition.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The new aid package is designed to strengthen Ukraine’s troop command and control capabilities and the operation of drone units, which are critically dependent on stable satellite communications.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, Polish President Karol Nawrocki signed a law providing for further funding of subscription fees for Starlink terminals in Ukraine.<\/a><\/p>\n
