Natalia Khodemchuk, the widow of the first victim of the Chernobyl disaster, who was injured during the shelling of the capital on November 14, died in Kyiv. After injuries and significant burns, the woman died in hospital, bringing the death toll from the attack to seven.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was announced on the national telethon.<\/p>\n

The head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachenko, reported<\/a> that an elderly woman injured during the shelling died in the hospital.<\/p>\n

“It became known that this morning an elderly woman who was injured during the shelling on November 14th died in the hospital. The number of Kyiv residents killed at the hands of Russian terrorists is seven,” he said.<\/p>\n

Journalists have clarified that the deceased is Natalia Khodemchuk, the widow of Chernobyl nuclear power plant worker Valeriy Khodemchuk, who became the first victim of the accident in 1986. As a result of the attack, the woman received significant burns that covered about forty-five percent of her body surface.<\/p>\n

Deputy Director for Medical Affairs of the municipal non-profit enterprise “Kyiv Medical Center” Tetyana Bondarenko reported that the victim also had a burn of the respiratory tract. Doctors emphasized that the course of treatment was complicated by concomitant diseases, in particular type 2 diabetes mellitus, ischemic heart disease and hypertensive heart disease.<\/p>\n

It is noted that the body of Valery Khodemchuk, the first victim of the explosion at the fourth power unit of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, was never found under the rubble. New Russian shelling has once again caused tragedy for his family.<\/p>\n

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported the completion of search and rescue operations in the Desnyanskyi district of Kyiv. Rescuers dismantled and removed two hundred and sixty-two tons of building structures and wood.<\/p>\n

By the way, the number of victims of the massive Russian shelling<\/a> of the capital on the night of November 14 has increased to 7 people.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, on the night of November 14, Kyiv experienced a large-scale combined attack by drones and missiles.<\/a> The shelling killed one person, injured more than two dozen others, and caused numerous fires and significant destruction in various areas of the capital.<\/p>\n
