Bild analyst Julian R\u00f6pke said that Ukraine is heading towards strategic defeat in the war with Russia unless urgent action is taken. According to him, the situation on the front is deteriorating due to the constant loss of territory and the lack of necessary decisions on the part of Kyiv and its Western partners.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He wrote about this in X.<\/a><\/p>\n

The analyst stated that Ukraine lost five hundred and eighty-six square kilometers of territory in October, and a new maximum in terms of the scale of losses may be reached in November.<\/p>\n

According to Roepke, the current pace of Russian advance makes “a monthly loss of territory the size of the federal state of Berlin” quite realistic. He noted that Russian offensives in the directions of the major cities of Dnipro and Zaporizhia could be a matter of months or one or two years.<\/p>\n

In his analytical assessment, R\u00f6pke emphasized that Ukrainian journalists and activists already understand the criticality of the situation, but the Ukrainian army and Western partners do not draw conclusions from their mistakes. He considers the current Western assistance insufficient and emphasizes the increasing dominance of Russia in the field of unmanned technologies.<\/p>\n

“Instead of supporting Ukraine with weapons of mass destruction in the modern sense – that is, millions of FPV drones, as well as thousands of powerful cruise missiles for deep strikes, Western countries, as before, are limited to spot assistance and investments in strategically overestimated Ukrainian long-range drones,” he said.<\/p>\n

R\u00f6pke also placed some of the blame on the Ukrainian authorities, saying the government “does not take the war of annihilation against its own country seriously.” He said the situation on the front was being worsened by problems with evasion and desertion. He stressed that “entire brigades often exist only on paper,” and gaps in the defense were leading to new breakthroughs by Russian troops.<\/p>\n

In conclusion, R\u00f6pke noted that without an immediate strategic turnaround by Ukraine and its partners, Russia will gradually win the war.<\/p>\n
