At a briefing in the Verkhovna Rada, Artur Gerasimov, co-chair of the European Solidarity faction, explained the threat Ukraine faces from losing the trust of its Western partners.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As is known, the European Solidarity faction, amid the corruption scandal, is demanding the resignation of the entire government, not just two scapegoated ministers. Currently, more than 60 MPs from various factions have signed the petition, Gerasimov reported.<\/p>\n

“Tomorrow we’ll continue this process. Why the entire government? Because the key thing that’s been lost is trust. People’s trust in the government and international partners’ trust in Ukraine. These are very scary things. And to restore trust, cosmetic stories, as the Presidential Office wants to suggest, are not enough. We need real change.” \u2014 faction co-chair.<\/p>\n

“We just returned from a very large OSCE conference. Dozens of people who are sincere friends of Ukraine approached us. They are members of parliament and governments of countries that support us. And they asked us one question: ‘How could this have happened?’ in March of ’22,” recalled Artur Gerasimov.<\/p>\n

“The government is the key issue today. It’s not even resignation. Resignation is only a half-measure. It’s the creation of an ideological government that will be responsible. Because, generally speaking, people are appointed without programs, without meetings, without ideology. And that’s how they work. Now we understand why. Because they worked for their supervisor, Mindich. Because Mindich is only the top brass.”<\/p>\n

“And the second point, a very serious one, is the budget vote. It’s absolutely impossible to vote for it in its current form, because all the corruption charges brought by Sviridenko and Mindich remain there. And until they’re removed, until all this money is directed exclusively toward the defense security sector and toward our victory, Gerasimov, the European Solidarity party.”<\/p>\n

As a reminder, Petro Poroshenko, during his European Solidarity statement in the Verkhovna Rada,<\/a> harshly criticized the government’s attempt to vent a corruption scandal by symbolically dismissing two ministers. <\/p>\n
