Donald Trump’s administration has sent a high-ranking delegation from the Pentagon to Ukraine to participate in negotiations on possible ways to end the war.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is reported by<\/a> The Wall Street Journal.<\/p>\n

According to the publication, President Trump has decided to send a group of defense officials to Kyiv on Wednesday to intensify discussions on a potential peace process between Ukraine and Russia.<\/p>\n

The delegation, which includes U.S. Army Secretary Dan Driscoll and two four-star generals, is scheduled to meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukrainian officials and defense industry representatives upon arrival. Driscoll also plans separate talks with Russian officials.<\/p>\n

In parallel, Axios reports that the Trump administration has already had private contacts with Russian officials before, discussing a new framework for a potential peace plan. The publication’s sources report the existence of a preliminary document with 28 points. The Russian side told reporters that it generally views the proposal positively, but is not sure how Ukraine and its European partners will perceive it.<\/p>\n

The draft plan is divided into four broad blocks:
\u2014 ending the war in Ukraine;
\u2014 security guarantees;
\u2014 stability in Europe;
\u2014 future US relations with Kyiv and Moscow.<\/p>\n

However, details, particularly regarding territorial issues, are not disclosed.<\/p>\n

The initiative is being coordinated by Steve Witkoff. He has already held detailed consultations with Russian representative Kirill Dmitriev. Witkoff’s planned meeting with Zelensky in Turkey has been postponed, but he met with NSDC Secretary Rustem Umerov in Miami earlier this week.<\/p>\n

Dmitriev also told Axios that the document is based on principles that Trump and Putin allegedly agreed upon during their meeting in Alaska in August. The plan, he said, is intended to offer options for resolving the war, resuming dialogue between the United States and Russia, and addressing Moscow\u2019s stated \u201csecurity issues.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Russian representative added that the initiative could become the basis for a potential meeting between Trump and Putin in Budapest. He stressed that the document has no relation to the British draft peace plan for Ukraine, which is being discussed separately.<\/p>\n

Russia previously stated that it was allegedly ready to return to the negotiation process with Ukraine at the Istanbul venue<\/a> . However, according to Russian diplomats, Kyiv has not yet provided an official response to this initiative.<\/p>\n

Subsequently, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Serhiy Kyslytsia, stated that the peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, which had been ongoing throughout this year, had ended without any significant results and were now officially suspended.<\/a><\/p>\n

As a reminder, US Special Representative Steve Witkoff was scheduled to arrive in Turkey on November 19 to participate in negotiations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.<\/a><\/p>\n

As reported, amid the corruption scandal at Energoatom, negotiations between Trump’s special representative Steve Witkoff and the head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, were canceled.<\/a><\/p>\n
