During a nighttime attack by Russian forces on Ukraine, one of the enemy drones penetrated approximately 8 km into Romanian airspace, forcing the Romanian Air Force to scramble F-16 and Eurofighter fighter jets.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> by the Ministry of National Defense of Romania.<\/p>\n

It is noted that two German Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets took off from the Mihailo Kogelniceanu air base on the night of November 19 at 00:25 to monitor the air situation on the border with Ukraine after Russian attacks in the area.<\/p>\n

“At 00:20, a Ro-Alert message was received, and a few minutes later, a drone signal was recorded, which entered Romanian airspace about 8 km from Vilkov in the direction of Kilia, after which it disappeared from radar,” the Romanian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.<\/p>\n

The drone appeared on radar for about 12 minutes. The Eurofighters returned to base at 01:50, and the F-16s at around 02:30. According to the Romanian military, special teams are ready to start searching for the drone in the area.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, on the night of November 19 , Russian troops carried out a series of strikes on the western regions of Ukraine, in particular on Ternopil and Lviv regions.<\/a><\/p>\n

As reported, on the night of November 11 , the fall and possible wreckage of a drone were recorded in the Romanian county of Tulcea, which borders Ukraine, amid Russia’s massive attack on the Odessa region.<\/a><\/p>\n
