A search and rescue operation continues in Ternopil at the site of the Russian air strike on the night of November 19. The whereabouts of 22 people are unknown, and they are being searched for.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced<\/a> this.<\/p>\n

“Our rescuers worked in Ternopil all night, and search and rescue operations are still ongoing. The whereabouts of 22 people are unknown\u2014the search for them continues,” the president said.<\/p>\n

According to him, more than 230 rescuers from nine regions of Ukraine are involved in the work.<\/p>\n

In some areas, work can only be done manually due to severe destruction and fragmented structures, which makes the search difficult, he added.<\/p>\n

As of now, 26 people are known to have died, including three children.<\/p>\n

“I thank all our people who have been working on the ground for almost 24 hours non-stop. Rescuers, medics, police officers \u2013 thank you to each and every one of them. It’s crucial that in these difficult times, despite all the attacks from Russia and all the terror, our people always know they can count on rescue and assistance,” the president noted.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, on the night of November 19, Russian troops carried out a series of strikes on the western regions of Ukraine<\/a> , in particular Ternopil and the Lviv region.<\/p>\n
