In January 2026, Trump’s special envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, will leave his post, according<\/a> to a Reuters report.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He has already informed colleagues of his intention to leave the administration. According to one of the interlocutors, Kellogg never aspired to hold office for a long time.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cA special presidential envoy is a temporary appointment, and in theory such envoys must be confirmed by the Senate to remain in their positions for more than 360 days,\u201d the news agency explained.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Kellogg, given current US law, January would be a natural point to leave office.<\/span><\/p>\n

As noted, such a decision would be bad news for Kyiv, as the special envoy remained a more loyal supporter of Ukraine than other administration officials.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kellogg has strongly condemned Russia’s attacks and has often clashed with another US special representative, Steve Witkoff, who repeats some pro-Russian theses and advocates a unilateral exchange of territories as part of a peace deal.<\/span><\/p>\n

Recall, Keith Kellogg previously criticized Kremlin leader Putin<\/a> , comparing his actions to Hitler’s actions in 1939.<\/p>\n
