In temporarily occupied Genichesk, the invaders have forced local businesses to install the ID MAX system, a facial recognition service that works through Russian state registries. Formally, the invaders explain this as “age verification,” but in reality they are launching a full-fledged digital surveillance mechanism.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the Central Intelligence Agency, the decision is based on Russian law No. 156-FZ, which forcibly introduces digital identification in all occupied territories. Businesses are being forced to install ID MAX by December 22, effectively turning them into part of the Russian system of control over residents.<\/span><\/p>\n

The system automatically transfers biometric data to the Russian platforms ESIA, Gosklyuch and other federal registries. Each scan records the person’s face, time, place and purchase, and store checkouts are transformed into data collection points.<\/span><\/p>\n

ID MAX functionality allows occupiers to track people’s movements, shopping frequency, locations, and contact circles. This can be used to pressure, mobilize, and tighten control over the population.<\/span><\/p>\n

As previously reported, Russia’s occupation of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions led to a catastrophic reduction in the number of operating mines:<\/a> from 114, only 15 remained.<\/p>\n
