The United States has prepared a draft security guarantees for Ukraine as part of Donald Trump’s “peace initiative.” The document is based on principles similar to NATO’s Article 5, which provides for a collective Western response in the event of a new Russian attack on Ukraine.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is stated<\/a> in the Axios article.<\/p>\n

The draft states that large-scale and deliberate aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine will be considered a threat to all Euro-Atlantic security. In such a situation, the United States and European countries must act together, including the possibility of using military instruments of deterrence.<\/p>\n

The document stipulates that the guarantees enter into force immediately upon signing and remain in force for at least ten years, and may subsequently be extended by agreement of all parties.<\/p>\n

Washington emphasizes that any steps by the Kremlin that contradict the terms of the future ceasefire will be assessed within the framework of a special mechanism for Ukraine-NATO cooperation.<\/p>\n

The response system will encompass military, intelligence, diplomatic and economic actions. Key Alliance countries \u2014 including France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Poland and Finland \u2014 have confirmed their readiness to act synchronously in the event of a new escalation by Russia.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy officially received a framework peace agreement developed by American officials.<\/a><\/p>\n

As reported, key provisions of the draft US “peace plan”, allegedly agreed upon by representatives of Donald Trump and the Kremlin, have become known. The document contains 28 points relating to the security, territories, economy and political future of Ukraine.<\/a><\/p>\n
