Ukrainian intelligence representatives have been involved in negotiations on the American peace plan. In particular, the head of the Ministry of Defense’s GUR, Kyrylo Budanov, and the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, Oleh Ivashchenko, are participating.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the interlocutor, this morning Budanov, Ivashchenko, and the head of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov held talks with US representatives, during which they discussed the provisions of the peace initiative. The meeting has already ended.<\/p>\n

Later, Umerov confirmed in his Telegram that he had spoken with the US delegation, led by General Daniel Driscoll. He specified that the Ukrainian side was represented by First Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Yevhen Ostryansky, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andriy Hnatov, Head of the Ministry of Defense\u2019s General Directorate of Military Operations Kyrylo Budanov, Head of the National Security and Defense Council Oleh Ivashchenko, Head of the National Security and Defense Council Anatoly Bargylevych, and Deputy Head of the Ministry of Defense\u2019s General Directorate of Military Operations Vadym Skibitsky.<\/p>\n

According to Umerov, the parties continued consultations that had started the day before at the level of the President of Ukraine. The subjects of discussion were mechanisms for achieving a just peace, possible further steps, and realistic formats for dialogue.<\/p>\n

He stressed that Ukraine carefully analyzes each proposal from partners and clearly defends its own position. Umerov emphasized that there can be no decisions that would go beyond Ukrainian sovereignty, the security of citizens, and the defined red lines.<\/p>\n

As is known, in recent weeks, US President’s Special Representative Steve Witkoff and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have been working on a peace proposal for Ukraine, also consulting with the Russian side.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, the Donald Trump administration sent a high-ranking delegation from the Pentagon to Ukraine<\/a> to participate in negotiations on possible ways to end the war.<\/p>\n
