Deputy Head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office Andriy Synyuk has resigned of his own free will. He explained that he wants to avoid any speculation surrounding the internal investigation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Synyuk says he decided to leave so that no one would associate his position with possible influence on the investigation.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Radio NV’s sources in the anti-corruption agencies told that the SAPO dismissed Synyuk due to suspicions of a systematic “drain” of information from cases, in particular regarding the investigation into the “Midas” case. The publication’s interlocutors also claim that the internal investigation was opened due to Synyuk’s meetings with possible defendants in cases in the energy sector. In addition, he is allegedly suspected of passing on details of other investigations, including to the Office of the President.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that the investigation has established who is behind the pseudonym “Professor” on the tapes appearing in the corruption case of Timur Mindich.<\/a><\/p>\n
