The UK has already identified military units it can send to Ukraine and is ready to deploy them quickly after a possible peace agreement is reached.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to Defense Secretary John Healy, London has updated its plans for participation in the “Coalition of the Willing”, determining the composition of the forces and potential locations of headquarters. Final coordination with other participating countries will take place taking into account the needs of Ukraine and the specific conditions of any peace scenario.<\/p>\n

Healy stressed that Britain is preparing to act immediately after peace. Among the scenarios considered is the long-term deployment of British troops to maintain stability and security. The plan also includes allocating more than 100 million pounds (approximately $ 130 million) to cover the initial costs associated with sending a contingent.<\/p>\n

The main elements of the plan include:<\/strong><\/p>\n

the creation of a coordination center under the leadership of a British officer;<\/p>\n

attracting experts to train the Ukrainian military and provide assistance with logistics and weapons;<\/p>\n

patrolling airspace to restore normal aviation operations;<\/p>\n

strengthening the naval group in the Black Sea for the purpose of mine clearance and ensuring the safe passage of vessels to Ukrainian ports.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the US peace proposal states that NATO countries should not station their troops on the territory of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, the US has prepared a draft of security guarantees for Ukraine as part of Donald Trump’s “peace initiative. ” The document is based on principles similar to NATO’s Article 5, which provides for a collective response by the West in the event of a new Russian attack on Ukraine.<\/a><\/p>\n

As reported, former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen stated that during recent meetings in European capitals , the possibility of direct British participation in the defense of Ukraine was discussed, including the use of the full range of military assets \u2014 “from fighter jets to infantry.”<\/a><\/p>\n
