Zelenskyy\u2019s address was not meant to inform. It was meant to emotionally mask an unpopular decision being prepared behind closed doors \u2014 because the real message lies in what he didn\u2019t<\/em> say.<\/strong><\/p>\n

First, it creates a false choice: either a \u201closs of dignity\u201d or a \u201closs of a key partner,\u201d as if there were no third option between capitulation and conflict with the United States \u2014 professional diplomacy, a strong stance, reforms, and maintaining sovereignty. This is a classic use of fear rather than explanation.<\/p>\n

Second, he conceals reality behind pathos.
The Vitkoff-Dmitriev Plan? US ultimatums? Real concessions? Red lines?
Not a single word.
Instead, he appeals to his own \u201coath\u201d and casts himself as a holy martyr. This is an attempt to replace responsibility with moralizing.<\/p>\n\t\t
