The United States last week provided Ukraine with two draft documents, including a separate piece on security guarantees. The document includes three key provisions that are modeled after NATO’s Article 5 principles.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is noted that last week, Ukraine received two draft documents from the United States – a 28-point plan and a separate framework agreement on security guarantees. The documents were handed over during the visit of the American delegation, which arrived in Kyiv on November 19.<\/p>\n

The delegation was led by Secretary of the Army Daniel Driscoll, who was appointed by US President Donald Trump as his special representative to advance the peace plan. Over the course of three days, American representatives held meetings with Ukraine’s political and military leadership, as well as European diplomats.<\/p>\n

Initially, the Ukrainian side was given a tough ultimatum to support the plan by November 27.<\/p>\n

“They came to us with an ultimatum: if you don’t support this plan by November 27, then please do it yourself with the Europeans, we will stop everything – both the supply of weapons and intelligence. We are cutting off everything. On the first day of the visit, their rhetoric was very tough, but then it softened a little,” one of the informed sources told the publication.<\/p>\n

Journalists note that the ultimatum was confirmed by other interlocutors. Later, US President Donald Trump said that because “Ukraine is losing territory,” November 27 is the right moment to make a decision.<\/p>\n

The first document discussed consists of 28 points and covers the issue of settlement between Ukraine and Russia, including territories and economic conditions.<\/p>\n

The second document is called the “Framework Agreement on Security Guarantees for Ukraine.” It contains three main points:<\/p>\n
