The Ukrainian and British Ministries of Defense have signed a licensing agreement for the Ukrainian Octopus interceptor drone.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Defense Minister Denis Shmyhal announced this, calling the signing of the document a “historic precedent.”<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to the minister, the agreement paves the way for the production of Ukrainian interceptors at British facilities. Octopus has already proven its effectiveness in countering Shahed-type attack drones, and mass production abroad will significantly increase supply volumes.<\/p>\n

Production in the UK is expected to reach several thousand drones per month. All interceptors produced will be transferred to Ukraine to strengthen airspace defense.<\/p>\n

Shmygal previously reported that Octopus had already entered serial production in Ukraine. The drone is capable of operating at night, at low altitudes, and under active electronic countermeasures, making it one of the most effective means of intercepting “shahids.”<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that the UK would manufacture new OCTOPUS interceptor drones for Ukraine<\/a> , designed to bolster the country’s defense capabilities. The agreement was reached during a meeting between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in London.<\/p>\n

Incidentally, the Wild Hornets team announced the development of a new Shaheed interceptor, the STING<\/a> , which has already proven its effectiveness on the front lines. In the four months of serial production, Ukrainian defenders have shot down over a thousand Shaheeds and Gerbers using the STING, about half of which occurred in October.<\/p>\n
