The Ukrainian Defense Forces have cut off Russian troops from supplies in Kupyansk, Kharkiv Oblast, so they are trying to advance by bypassing the city from the sides.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was stated by Viktor Tregubov, head of the communications department of the Joint Forces Group, during a telethon.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cRussian announcements of victory turned out to be premature. They (the Russians \u2014 ed.) conducted active offensive operations in early November. During these offensive operations, they began to fight in the city center and tried to break through to the south. It seemed to them that the map had \u201cgone\u201d, it seemed to them that the city was almost taken. And they began to report about this first through the mouth of Gerasimov, and then through the mouth of Putin,\u201d the military man emphasized.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to him, the situation in Kupyansk has not changed in favor of the Russians. The defense forces have effectively cut them off from supplies. Now the enemy units that were in the city are blocked in the northern areas.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tregubov explained that the number of Russians there is decreasing, but slowly, as it is difficult to conduct assault operations in urban areas when there are people sitting in basements.<\/span><\/p>\n

He added that the Russians are not receiving reinforcements. They are being destroyed on the approaches to the settlement, which is why the enemy is operating around Kupyansk.<\/span><\/p>\n

In particular, the occupiers are trying to press from the south on the left bank of the Oskol, and in some places they are also bypassing from the West, and even more actively from the North.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAs of now, the situation is at a standstill,\u201d Tregubov stated.<\/span><\/p>\n

Recall that the Russians have developed a logistical route through a gas pipe<\/a> , with the help of which they overcome Oskil and enter Kupyansk.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that the Russian occupiers have accumulated a significant number of troops in Kupyansk<\/a> , as a result of which they are managing to expand control in the central part of the city.<\/p>\n

As is known, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are conducting an operation to clear Kupyansk<\/a> of Russian occupiers. About 60 Russian servicemen remain in the city.<\/p>\n
