Four people suspected of spying for Russia have been detained in France. The main suspect is Anna Novikova, founder of the<\/span> SOS Donbass<\/span> organization , which allegedly provided humanitarian aid. In fact, according to French prosecutors, this organization was a covert channel for contacts with Russian intelligence services.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The investigation found that the status of a “humanitarian” organization gave the defendants easy access to French businesses and local politicians. Under this cover, they collected information about France’s economic interests and spread Kremlin narratives – about a “civil war” in Ukraine and the need to stop military aid to Kyiv.<\/span><\/p>\n

This story shows that after expelling its diplomats in 2022, Russia is increasingly using illegal networks of influence in the West. The Kremlin is disguising its agents as charities or cultural centers to gather intelligence, influence public opinion, and undermine support for Ukraine.<\/span><\/p>\n
