The International Judo Federation has announced that Russian athletes will once again compete under their own flag and anthem. The organization’s leadership says it is committed to preserving the “unity of the world judo community” and ensuring a level playing field for all.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The statement notes that Belarusians were recently allowed back into the competition, and now Russians are also allowed to compete “on general terms.” The federation emphasizes that Russia “has historically been one of the leading countries in judo” and its return “will enrich the competition.”<\/span><\/p>\n

The federation’s executive committee voted to allow the use of the Russian flag, anthem, and official symbols during international starts.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was previously reported that the UEFA Congress will be held in Belgrade, and while the official agenda looks calm, serious discussions may take place on the sidelines.<\/a><\/p>\n

As a reminder, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and French President Emmanuel Macron stated that they do not support Russia’s return to the G8 format.<\/a><\/p>\n
