The Russian army has begun using operator-controlled Shahed drones to attempt to shoot down Ukrainian planes and helicopters.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

This was announced<\/a> by Deputy Minister of Defense for Innovation Yuriy Myronenko in a comment to Business Insider.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to him, the Russian military is testing both new versions of the Shahed and other drone models that can be controlled in real time. This gives operators the opportunity to react to the situation in the air and even try to attack Ukrainian aircraft.<\/span><\/p>\n

Such drones operate near the front line and maintain communication via antennas in temporarily occupied territories, in the border regions of the Russian Federation, or on the territory of Belarus.<\/span><\/p>\n

Myronenko noted that this tactic complicates the work of Ukrainian air defense, as it reduces response time and creates new risks for aviation, which plays a key role in intercepting the Shaheds. According to him, the Russians may seek to weaken this element of Ukrainian defense.<\/span><\/p>\n

As previously reported, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi made a working trip to the Pokrovsky direction and held a meeting with the commanders of groups, commanders of military units and subdivisions performing tasks on this section of the front.<\/a><\/p>\n

As a reminder, the Ministries of Defense of Ukraine and the United Kingdom have concluded a license agreement for the Ukrainian Octopus interceptor drone.<\/a><\/p>\n
