North Korean soldiers sent to fight for Russia in Ukraine are being forced to blow themselves up with grenades if they risk being captured, according to South Korean sources who have reported that Kim Jong-un has ordered them to do so.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the publication, Pyongyang has increased ideological pressure on the military, which the Kremlin is actively involving in the war against Ukraine. Before being sent to the combat zone, North Korean soldiers are gathered for mandatory political classes – twice a week they are forced into the idea of “heroic death” and shown the stories of those who have allegedly already blown themselves up at the front.<\/p>\n

Such lectures are presented as “examples of courage,” and the Russian military is called less courageous in comparison, implying that they are incapable of “sacrificing their lives rather than surrendering.”<\/p>\n

According to journalists, North Korean propagandists use rhetoric similar to fanatical cult practices – soldiers are told that suicide on the battlefield guarantees them “eternal life.” The troops even have a new slogan: “Learn from soldiers who blew themselves up.”<\/p>\n

South Korea notes that such propaganda demonstrates Pyongyang’s complete disregard for its own citizens, who are sent to die in a war for foreign interests.<\/p>\n

Recall that North Korea this year transferred half as much artillery ammunition to Russia as in 2024, and this may indicate a rapid depletion of its reserves.<\/a><\/p>\n

As reported, Russia plans to recruit 12,000 North Korean workers to work at its military plants in Tatarstan.<\/a> According to Ukrainian intelligence, this is part of a large-scale preparation for the production of long-range drones, which Russia uses to strike at Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure.<\/p>\n

By the way, South Korea stated that the participation of the DPRK military in the Russian war against Ukraine could have deterred Pyongyang from a military response to Seoul’s provocations in 2024.<\/a><\/p>\n
