The decor for it is made in soft pastel shades, repeating the color scheme of the frescoes of St. Sophia of Kyiv.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p> This <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=YU9b-RFWjmU\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">was told<\/a> by the curator of the New Year tree installation project, Nadiya Tutenko, on the air of the &#8220;Kyiv24&#8221; channel.<\/p>\n<p> According to her, the team decided to abandon traditionally contrasting colors in favor of a restrained, &#8220;museum&#8221; palette that symbolizes the connection of modern Kyiv with its thousand-year-old cultural heritage.<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;This year we chose a theme inspired by the frescoes of St. Sophia of Kyiv. The Christmas tree will be in pastel colors, and it will be decorated with a warm garland,&#8221; she explained.<\/p>\n<p> The top of the New Year tree will be complemented by a specially created pastel star \u2014 also in a style that echoes ancient Kyiv art.<\/p>\n<p> Festive decorations have already begun to be delivered to Sofia Square. In total, about 4,500 decorations will be used for the decoration.<\/p>\n<p> To ensure that the tree shines even during periods of possible power outages, a generator will be installed nearby.
