In Ukraine, food prices are expected to rise in the second decade of December ahead of Christmas and New Year. According to economist Oleg Pendzin, the price increase will affect key products for the holiday table.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the second decade of December, Ukrainians may see a gradual increase in the cost of basic food products. According to Oleg Pendzin, a member of the Economic Discussion Club, the price increase will occur for the most popular goods that are traditionally purchased for the winter holidays.<\/p>\n

“In the second decade of December, we will see, slowly, a small increase in prices. The first thing that will become more expensive is what you will put on the festive table – eggs, milk, meat. It may jump in price by about 7-10%<\/strong> , and then it will drop,” Pendzin said.<\/p>\n

The economist also suggested that after the Christmas and New Year holidays, the cost of products may drop to their previous level. He explained that consumers’ options are limited, so the market will not be able to maintain high prices for long.<\/p>\n

“The human wallet is not rubber, it is limited. So you have the answer. Where will people get their money from?” Pendzin said.<\/p>\n
