The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court in absentia chose a preventive measure in the form of arrest for businessman and suspect of participation in a corruption scheme Timur Mindich.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Because Mindich is abroad, his interests were represented in court by a state attorney. He noted that he was unable to contact his client.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the same time, bail was not set for the alleged defendant, as there is no such possibility when a preventive measure is chosen in absentia.<\/span><\/p>\n

The court session was closed for 15 minutes due to the consideration of evidence that could harm national security.<\/span><\/p>\n

After the preventive measure is chosen, anti-corruption authorities will put Mindich on the international wanted list for detention.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a reminder, NABU and SAPO are conducting a large-scale operation “Midas” to expose corruption in the energy sector<\/a> . According to the investigation, the activities of a high-level criminal organization were established, which controlled financial flows and personnel decisions in state energy structures.<\/p>\n

By the way, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau<\/span> and<\/span> the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office<\/span> reported suspicions against<\/span> 7 individuals<\/span><\/a> involved in a large-scale corruption scheme at<\/span> JSC NNEGC Energoatom<\/span> .<\/span><\/p>\n

As is known, journalists from “Schemes” identified the names of individuals whom NABU detectives reported suspicious<\/a> to as part of an investigation into corruption in the energy sector, including Timur Mindich.<\/span><\/p>\n

Earlier, Zelenskyy imposed NSDC sanctions against the co-owner of Kvartal-95 Timur Mindich and businessman Oleksandr Zukerman<\/a> , who are linked to a corruption case in the energy sector.<\/p>\n
