While Europe is trying to figure out what to do with NATO after 2027, Washington has made a fundamental decision: weapons for Ukraine will not just not be reduced – they will increase.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to<\/a> Kyiv Post insider Alex Raufoglu at the State Department, the US is preparing a large-scale expansion of supplies closer to Christmas, despite the largest review of America’s role in the Alliance in a decade.<\/p>\n

In closed-door talks this week, European diplomats were told bluntly that America would no longer be NATO’s “mainstay” in the area of traditional defense.<\/p>\n

In particular, insiders clarified that Washington is not going to fight two wars at the same time and is shifting its priority to the Asia-Pacific region.<\/p>\n

If Europe does not rebuild command and defense structures under its own leadership, the US will be prepared to withdraw from key NATO planning mechanisms, including the NFM and NDPP.<\/p>\n

American officers will gradually vacate positions in command structures to transfer responsibility to Europeans.<\/p>\n

One of the participants in the negotiations described the atmosphere as follows:
\u201cThis is the end of the old NATO paradigm. No joke.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite tough ultimatums to Europe, the US is clear about Ukraine: there are no plans to stop the arms race. On the contrary, the Trump administration is preparing a \u201cChristmas surge in supplies.\u201d<\/p>\n

This is an important signal for several reasons:<\/p>\n

The US wants Ukraine to remain strong at a time when NATO is undergoing reformatting.<\/p>\n

Washington realizes that Kyiv is a key deterrent against Russia while Europe is \u201crocking.\u201d<\/p>\n

American officials have said bluntly: \u201cSupport for Ukraine remains. But Europe must learn to act without expecting America to do everything first.\u201d<\/p>\n

Insiders admit that despite demands for Europe to increase its defense, America itself lacks the capacity to quickly produce some of the high-tech weapons that the Europeans have ordered. However, this does not apply to Ukraine – the administration calls supplies to Kyiv a priority.<\/p>\n

Recall, US President’s special envoy Steve Witkoff allegedly convinced Ukrainian representatives to ask the United States for zero tariffs in exchange for Tomahawk missiles.<\/a> According to sources, this proposal was made in October, when the White House was considering the possibility of transferring these missiles to Ukraine.<\/p>\n

As reported, US President Donald Trump decided not to transfer Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine after a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin in October.<\/a><\/p>\n

By the way, the US has increased pressure on Ukraine and Russia regarding peace talks. According to Reuters, sources speak of US threats to reduce the supply of intelligence and weapons if Ukraine does not agree to the proposed scheme.<\/a><\/p>\n
