Former Defense Minister under Leonid Kuchma, General of the Army of Ukraine Oleksandr Kuzmuk, officially awarded the soldiers of the Territorial Defense Forces. It was also revealed that he is an advisor to the Commander of the Territorial Defense Forces, which became news and sparked a furious reaction on social media.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported on<\/a> the official Facebook page of the Territorial Defense Forces. Among other things, it noted that Oleksandr Kuzmuk, on behalf of the Commander of the Territorial Defense Forces, Major General Igor Plakhuta, presented departmental awards and valuable gifts to the servicemen of the Territorial Defense Forces.<\/p>\n

In addition, it was revealed that Alexander Kuzmuk is an advisor to Major General Igor Plakhuta.<\/p>\n

Despite the fact that Mr. Kuzmuk was discharged from the Ukrainian Armed Forces in 2019 at the age of 65, with the right to wear a military uniform, the former Minister of Defense joined Teroborona in 2022.<\/p>\n

Oleksandr Kuzmuk served as Minister of Defense from 1996 to 2001 and from 2004 to 2005. During his first term, an active reduction in the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ personnel and weapons began. It was also under Kuzmuk’s tenure that a terrible tragedy occurred in Brovary in 2000. A Tochka-U ballistic missile accidentally struck a residential building during a training exercise. Three people died as a result.<\/p>\n

Oleksandr Kuzmuk also served as deputy prime minister for six months in Viktor Yanukovych’s government in 2007. He also served as a member of parliament in the fourth through sixth convocations of the parliament, representing the notorious Party of Regions.<\/p>\n

The fact that Alexander Kuzmuk, who is 71 years old, is now an advisor to the Commander of the Troops was a real revelation and caused quite a storm of reaction on social media.<\/p>\n
